01 The clinical problem

When forceps reach
their limit

Tooth extraction is among the most common procedures in dentistry — but traditional instrumentation (forceps, dental elevators, levers) applies uncontrolled mechanical forces that systematically damage alveolar bone. Buccal cortical plates fracture, root tips break, soft tissues are traumatized.

In posterior sectors the problem worsens: access is limited, straight instruments cannot reach mesial and distal surfaces of molars, and impacted third molars demand extensive osteotomies. The result is a compromised socket — months of healing and often grafting before an implant can be placed.

02 The solution

Magnetodynamic periotomy
atraumatic by design

The Magnetic Mallet delivers a controlled impulse of over 300 kg in 50 microseconds. BLEXO uses this impulse for magnetodynamic periotomy — the instrument enters the periodontal ligament space with a progressive wedge effect, widening the space around the root from the inside out, without applying leverage on alveolar walls.

Eight dedicated instruments in two families — Pathfinder (four straight extractors) and AngleFit (four angled extractors) — cover every root morphology and access angle. The alveolus is preserved intact for optimal socket preservation.

02

Where traditional forceps
fall short

01

100% alveolar preservation

No leverage forces on the alveolar walls. Buccal and lingual bone remain intact, ready for socket preservation or immediate implant placement.

02

Controlled periotomy

The magnetodynamic impulse enters the periodontal space with a progressive wedge effect — millimeter-level precision, constant force.

03

Access to complex roots

Eight dedicated profiles: Micro for apices, Slim for flat roots, Arc for curved roots, LongRoot for deep roots, plus four AngleFit extractors for posterior sectors.

04

Magnetodynamic leverage

The impulse is delivered by the device: constant, reproducible, independent of operator fatigue. The same result at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

05

Power level 1 throughout

The lowest Magnetic Mallet setting is sufficient for every extraction — no need to increase. Clinical reports consistently describe little to no perceived shock.

06

Optimal socket preservation

The alveolus stays intact post-extraction — ready for immediate implant placement or spontaneous healing, typically without need for additional bone grafting.

Three scenarios, one kit
Fractured apices Simple case · BLEXO Micro

Reach the apex without osteotomy

BLEXO Micro enters the residual periodontal space and mobilizes the fragment without bone removal.

Impacted 3rd molars Complex case · AngleFit Mesial + Distal

Both surfaces, minimal osteotomy

AngleFit Mesial and Distal reach both surfaces of the third molar, keeping osteotomy to a minimum.

Multi-rooted molars Standard case · AngleFit RightSide + LeftSide

Each root, individually

After crown separation, AngleFit RightSide and LeftSide engage each root in turn.

Atraumatic extraction
biologically measurable

Magnetodynamic periotomy enters the periodontal ligament space without applying leverage on alveolar bone. Peer-reviewed studies indicate measurable benefits in operative time and post-extraction bone preservation when extractions are performed with the Magnetic Mallet impulse. Questions clinicians
often ask

What is BLEXO and what is it used for?

BLEXO is a system of eight magnetodynamic extractors designed for the OSSEOTOUCH Magnetic Mallet. It performs atraumatic tooth extraction through magnetodynamic periotomy: the impulse enters the periodontal ligament space with a progressive wedge effect, mobilizing the tooth without applying leverage forces on the alveolar walls.

What is the difference between Pathfinder and AngleFit?

The Pathfinder family includes four straight extractors (Micro, Slim, Arc, LongRoot), optimized for different root morphologies. The AngleFit family includes four angled extractors (Mesial, Distal, RightSide, LeftSide) designed to reach molar surfaces in posterior sectors where straight instruments cannot access.

Does BLEXO help preserve alveolar bone during extraction?

Yes. BLEXO works through magnetodynamic periotomy: it enters the periodontal ligament space with a progressive wedge effect, without applying leverage on the alveolar walls. The post-extraction socket typically remains intact, enabling optimal socket preservation for immediate implant placement or natural healing.

Can BLEXO extract impacted third molars?

Yes. The combination of AngleFit Mesial and AngleFit Distal allows access to both surfaces of impacted or partially impacted third molars. Magnetodynamic periotomy mobilizes the tooth with osteotomy kept to a minimum, which can reduce the risk of inferior alveolar nerve injury.

At what power level should BLEXO be used with the Magnetic Mallet?

Standard protocol commonly uses power level 1 for extraction workflows. The 50-microsecond impulse is below the threshold typically perceived as vibration; clinical reports consistently describe little to no perceived shock.

Does BLEXO work on fractured apices?

Yes. BLEXO Micro features an ultra-thin profile designed specifically to reach fractured apices and retained roots in deep periodontal spaces. The magnetodynamic impulse creates a progressive wedge effect that mobilizes the fragment, often without the need for osteotomy or surgical flap.

Is BLEXO compatible with Magnetic Mallet handpieces?

Yes. The eight extractors fit new-generation Magnetic Mallet handpieces and use the magnetodynamic impulse. All extractions are performed at power level 1.
